{JCSBOT SUBSCRIPTION=10,13,16,21,22,23}

Materials used:
  • White bazzill cardstock
  • Black acrylic Paint
  • Sable paintbrush (1.5 inch)
  • Vintage coloring book page
  • Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo Paper Pack (with tag)
  • Adhesive
  • Pop-Dots
  • Epson 1280 Photo Stylus Printer
  • Digital Kits:
    •  By Kate Hadfield. “Monkey Sock Madness”
    •  By Michele Coleman “Grungy Edge Overlays”

Instructions:

  1. First, heavily apply black paint to your paint brush and use strokes at random along the edges of the cardstock.  Allow paint to dry thoroughly.
Here’s a tip:  If the paper curls after the paint has dried, simply slide it into an empty album page protecter.  It will flatten right out!
  1. Next, choose the Word art “I’m Bananas for You” and open it in Photoshop or your favorite graphics software program.
  2. Create a blank document with the dimensions of 12 inches wide, 12 inches in length.  Copy the Wordart onto this blank document.  In this case, I moved it around to the bottom of the page.
  3. Print onto the painted cardstock.  (You may choose to do this step before painting your cardstock).
  4. Open a new document in Photoshop at any paper size.  I used 8 inches wide, 10 inches in length.
  5. Cut and paste any elements you wish to cut out onto this new document.  Flatten the image, and print.
  6. Next open your photo.  I chose a nutty picture of my son for this layout, and then I opened a grungey overlay.
  7. Drag your overlay onto the photo.  You will need to adjust it to fit, and/or change the color of the overlay .
  8. Now print your elements page and photo.
  9. Cut them out and add to your page!  I used “pop dots” to add dimension.

About the author:
Hello all from the Bluegrass State! My name is Kristie, a 28 year old wife and mother of one, Bryce. I am also the mother of 3 cocker spaniels. I love to scrap, paint, draw, and scrap some more. My son, Bryce, is my inspiration for art; however, I can be inspired by billboards, clothing tags, or even coffee mugs! My husband, Mark, is so supportive of my scrapping obsession. I love documenting the lives of my family through scrapbooking. I would say that my style reflects my artistic side. I like to use a lot of bold, loud colors to get the most outrageous effect in my layouts. I am quite the perfectionist - everything has to be PERFECT!! My ideal supplies must be so bright and colorful that they could damage the retinas.
