Brought to you by Julie Mead of e-scapeandscrap.com!

INTROI had so much fun creating this page for my art journal. I know time is a challenge but I hope you will take a little time for yourself and watch the videos for Lucky 7 Workshop #2. The two techniques I teach in this workshop are among some of my favorites! I think it will be worth your time, especially if you love playing with mixed media or maybe you just want to try something new on your scrapbook pages.

The Prepare Photos Tab has the steps explaining the Photoshop techniques I did to prepare the photos for the journal page.

The videos have been divided into smaller chunks for your convenience. Each one is less than 10 minutes.

PREPARE PHOTOS

How to prepare your photos for the Lucky 7 Video Workshop #2.

(Photoshop)

First you will need to copy the color photo layer by dragging the photo layer into the new layer icon on the layers palette. Change it to a black and white photo by choosing Image>Adjustments>Desaturate. Make sure your color palette is set to black and white. Do this by pressing Option D. Next choose Filter>Sketch>Halftone Pattern. Choose these settings (or try experimenting): Size 6, Contrast 44, Pattern Type Dot. Press OK. (Click on photos to see larger image.)

When printing the black and white photo be sure to choose “Mirror” option. Either hide or delete the black and white layer. Choose the Marquee and make a rectangle around the section(s) you want to print in color.

Print in color, do NOT choose the “Mirror” option when printing.
