Hybrid ATC Cards

ATC Cards are Artist Trading Cards that you can trade with other scrapbookers, friends, artists, etc. I joined a swap with some online friends to trade ATC’s and this was my first time making these and they were SO much fun! They can be any theme you want them to be but I decided to add my photo to them and some quirky sayings about digital scrapbooking, since I was trading them with traditional paper scrappers for the most part. They are typically the size of playing cards, and I just used some old ones I had lying around as my base.

First , I opened up all my digital papers that I wanted to use and resized them down to 3.5″x3.5″. I opened up a New 8.5×11″ file and dragged and dropped all my little resized papers onto my new blank document for printing. I then chose a picture of myself and altered it using Filter > Charcoal. Make sure your image will be small enough to fit on a playing card, then print out multiples of your image. On another New 8.5×11″ document, I typed all the sayings that I wanted to go on my cards and printed that out as well.

I cut out all my little papers, photos of myself and all my sayings. I laid out 6 playing cards in front of me like an assembly line and started gluing each piece of my little digital papers to each playing card. I then adhered a coordinating piece of cardstock to the back of each card to cover up the back and them trimmed everything down to the dimensions of the playing card.

Next, I inked the edges of my cards with various colors of ink and then added the photos, sayings and all the other fun embellishments. Lastly, don’t forget to sign the back of your card with your name and date so the person you’re trading with knows who made it. These 6 cards from start to finish took me about 2 hours and will be a keepsake for my friends as something that I made and in my style of scrapping. So go get some friends together and make some ATC’s to swap!
