38  SOFTWARE SAFARI - What software will work best for you? / Photoshop CS or CS2 / Re: Brushes on: April 11, 2007, 05:40:27 AM
I usually create folders for designers and place those folders inside my brushes folder. That helps me keep track of where they came from and who made them. I also have a folder for "unknwon' people and for my own.

When I DL'd Zip'd files I make the folder for them and place them directly into it. Then I unzip them and delete the zipped file.  It is really easy to keep track of them since they are already in a folder with the designers name.

Another thing I've done in the past (haven't done it recently) is that every time I downloaded a new set of brushes I'd open up an 8.5x11 white paper and stamp a sample of each brush onto the page and write the collection/set name on the page. Then i'd print it out and put it next to the computer in a folder for quick referrence. That way I'd know what brush set to load.

Smiley just my way of doing it though.

Yes DIS/DIP works with Windows XP, it is the system I'm running and it works fine for me. Smiley
Hope that helps.

If you do have additional questions I teach Photoshop CS/CS2 locally and may be able to answer your questions. Smiley (I'll do my best at least!)

44  SOFTWARE SAFARI - What software will work best for you? / Digital Image Suite / Re: DIS/DIP Tutorials on: March 21, 2007, 01:29:12 PM
The tutorials are great!

As a side note if anyone has any questions about DIP / DIS I teach classes locally using this program and have used it for about 4 years (back when it was Picture It! hah) so I do know the program pretty well. I'd be happy to help answer any questions you might have or walk you through steps if you are have problems.  (In case you can find a tutorial on it)

45  SOFTWARE SAFARI - What software will work best for you? / FotoFusion Essentials / Foto Fusion on: March 21, 2007, 01:27:01 PM
This is a great program on many levels. You can create entire page designs (digitally) or you can use their auto collage feature to create great collages with your photographs quickly which can be printed out and then used in your layouts. If you have any questions about the program I'll do my best to answer them Smiley
