I guess this could be posted in the PSE thread as well but anyways lol what I wanted to know is how everyone keeps track of their brushes so that proper credit can be given AND they are easy to find when you want to use them.  I have a HEAP of brushes and of course the file names are never useful to me so I have started renaming them so I can keep track of them.  What do YOU do?

I tried something new for my brushes...so far it has worked ok but I know there must be another simpler way to do this. lol Anyways I downloaded all my brushes and put them in one folder (unzipped of course).  I wrote down all the brushes and the proper credits on a piece of paper that I keep right by the keyboard.  Now when I open up a brush I can can reference the name on my sheet of paper and give proper credit.  I also make sure that when I start a new layout that I start with only the default brushes.

I usually create folders for designers and place those folders inside my brushes folder. That helps me keep track of where they came from and who made them. I also have a folder for "unknwon' people and for my own.

When I DL'd Zip'd files I make the folder for them and place them directly into it. Then I unzip them and delete the zipped file.  It is really easy to keep track of them since they are already in a folder with the designers name.

Another thing I've done in the past (haven't done it recently) is that every time I downloaded a new set of brushes I'd open up an 8.5x11 white paper and stamp a sample of each brush onto the page and write the collection/set name on the page. Then i'd print it out and put it next to the computer in a folder for quick referrence. That way I'd know what brush set to load.

Smiley just my way of doing it though.

I do it pretty much the same way Kristi does....I have all of Al Ward's stuff in a folder, and so forth. I also have a print out of each brush in the file in a 3 ring so that I have them catalogued.....since the file names are so much help.  Grin I also do the same thing for actions, textures and anything else I DL for PS or PSE. So far, it has worked pretty well.....My main problem is that I'm as overloaded on "stuff" for PS and PSE as I am on digi-downloads! What to do! I've already filled up an external HD and am working on a second.  Roll Eyes
