I've read so much about people using ACDSEE or Picasa to organize photos for use in PSE. PSE has the organizer built in, with the capabilities of tags and categories, and even new albums. I just wonder what the benefits are.

thanks,

Older versions of PSE don't have the organizer, so I suspect that many people either started their collections in ACDSEE and don't want to convert, or are simply working off of older software.  HTH!

I've had PSE 3, 4 and now 6, and the reason I got ACDSee to organize (first tried Picasa however), is because it's an easier, faster, user-friendly, organizer.  If you download a free, trial version of ACDSee, you'll see what I mean (30 day trial).  I had the same questions but not after I tried it.  However, you could also download Picasa, which is totally free, and see if you think that organizer is easier but Picasa doesn't have nearly the features that ACDSee does...  I guess it's a matter of preference?
