Title: How Often Are You Printing?
Post by: amyylem on October 24, 2007, 04:42:44 AM
The reason I ask is that I have recently encountered some issues with my printer because I stockpile my printing and then print all at once. This makes for some cobwebs in my printer and a lot of headaches at 10:30 at night trying to get all my ink heads to fire correctly.
Does anyone have an, I don't know, schedule that they find works for them?  I am always looking to make things quicker and easier!

I print on demand actually. I'm bad about not printing my photos unless I plan to use them in a project.  Katie the Scrapbook Lady has a monthly round-up on her blog at the end of each month where she lists all her computer maintenance/digi kit maintenance/blog maintenance/ photo maintenance tasks too.

I print when I need something. It ranges from daily to weekly depending on what I'm working on.

I haven't found what works best for me. My Epson seems to have some clogging on the nozzles if I don't print frequently enough so I ususaly run a nozzle check before I start a print job. My HP hasn't had that problem but I don't use it for all my projects.

I strongly recommend you do a print nozzle before printing and not print so many projects at once, the buffer can only hold so much b4 it runs into issues.

I usually print pics from Kodak, after I play with them in Photoshop, when I want to print a lot at once.  Otherwise, I print as needed from home, but I don't the quality as much as when I order the prints.  But for journaling, overlays, etc, I print maybe twice a week.
