I honestly have to say that creating these art journal pages this month using the Lucky 7 kit has been lots of fun for me. I really enjoyed using the Lucky 7 kit but I also enjoyed digging into some of my old scrapping supplies. They may be “old” but they are timeless. I found lots of great products that are calling my name with lots of new ideas for using them.

These last workshops focus on some fun printing techniques. I created 2 pages for this last installment, both rather vintage. Thanks for following along this month. I hope to be back soon with some more video workshops to spark your creativity. Remember, these ideas are just a jumping off point for you to add your own creative flair.

Close-up of the rub ons, stamps and word art paper strip by Digizines by Teri. Notice the wonderful brush stroke texture left by the brushed on gesso.

Feel free to use those brads! They still make great accents for pages.

Layers of gesso, paint, crackle medium and rub-ons just add to texture and interest of the background. Also notice the close-up of the pen tracing around the word art. No need to be perfect!

I know time is a challenge but I hope you will take a little time for yourself and watch the videos for Lucky 7 Workshop #2. The two techniques I teach in this workshop are among some of my favorites! I think it will be worth your time, especially if you love playing with mixed media or maybe you just want to try something new on your scrapbook pages.

The Prepare Photos Tab has the steps explaining the Photoshop techniques I did to prepare the photos for the journal page.

The videos have been divided into smaller chunks for your convenience. Each one is less than 10 minutes.

Change it to a black and white photo by choosing Image>Adjustments>Desaturate. Make sure your color palette is set to black and white. Do this by pressing Option D.
Have you ever been asked to send someone a screen shot but didn’t know how? Or, when you did find the PrtScn button, you didn’t know what to do with it after that?

Well, help is on the way. I found an awesome prgram that is free and so easy to use. You are going to love this!

Gadwin PrintScreen lets you capture images from your computer screen. For example, you can capture the entire screen or choose the area that you want to capture. You can capture the contents of the screen with a single keystroke. The captured screen can then be sent to the printer, or saved to disk as a file in 6 different graphics file formats. The hot key defaults to the PrintScreen key, but you may also define other keys to initiate a capture. Gadwin PrintScreen allows you to e-mail the captured images as well! Visit the company’s Web site at http://www.Gadwin.com.

Here is the cover layout we used for Vol 3 Issue 1:

Here is the layout after it has been embellished.

Follow along with me as I show you how easy this is to complete and embellish.
I’m using Digital Scrapbook Artist software. This software is very user friendly. It comes with several gorgeous kits so that you can start scrapping immediately.

I have so totally enjoyed playing with the Digital Scrapbook Artist software. It’s quite user-friendly. I really appreciate all the realistic embellishments and papers that come with the software, too!

This program also does what I have not seen in any other graphics software programs. Check out the 24 different scissors edges to choose from that will cut your papers, or the brushes that brush on realistic looking rope or string and even different kinds of stitches! You can easily cut out shapes or create frayed edges. Text on a path is never a problem…simple to do.

Then, just when you think you’ve seen everything, you will find that you can easily extract from your photos! Unbelievable! They even have included built-in digital photo editing!

When you are finished, you can easily print from your home printer, upload your photos to the Daisy Trail website where you can share with friends and family, export your pages to popular file formats, or email your scrapbooks with the click of a button!

I’ve just touched the surface of what this affordable software program can do for you! Stay tuned as we bring you more projects that show you the features of this incredible product!
