This workshop is creative play at its best! Dig into your kids’ crayon box and grab the most unused crayon in there, a white crayon, for this art journal project. You will love the artistic play with this workshop! I have included the word art I used in the video as a FREE gift for you. Spray bottles
Distress Crackle Paint by Ranger: Clear Rock Candy
Gesso
Lucky 7 Nifty Designer’s Kit (I used the Bingo frames from it)
Lucky 7 Add On by Digizines by Teri (I used the white numbered word art paper strip from this kit.)
Acrylic Paint
Tim Holtz Distress Ink or other ink pad
Spray bottle color washes such as Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, Perfect Pearls Mist by Ranger, Adrirondack Color Wash by Ranger

Close-up of the rub ons, stamps and word art paper strip by Digizines by Teri. Notice the wonderful brush stroke texture left by the brushed on gesso.

Feel free to use those brads! They still make great accents for pages.

Layers of gesso, paint, crackle medium and rub-ons just add to texture and interest of the background. Also notice the close-up of the pen tracing around the word art. No need to be perfect!

Bingo frame cards – Love these! Distressed a little with some red and brown ink pads.

Glittery Christmas Card – Free Hybrid Project

Simply download and print. Then follow the steps below to embellish!

Supplies used:

white cardstock
printed card graphics (download below)
ScorePal (optional)
Scotch Adhesive Dot Roller
solid coordinating cardstock (not shown below)
RoseArt Glitter Glue
Zebra Sarasa Metallic Pens
paper cutter or scissors (not shown below)

Step 1: Download and print out the card graphic.

I printed the card on 8-1/2″ x 11″ Presentation paper (or matte Brochure paper). After printing, just cut the paper in half both ways, so that the cards are each 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Step 2: (Optional) One of the cards comes blank (without a greeting on it) so you can write whatever you would like as shown below. I used a gold metallic Zebra pen by Sarasa. It wrote beautifully! I loved the easy grip on these pens and how smoothly they wrote. Click HERE to find out how you can win your own set of these beautiful metallic pens!

Step 3: Embellish with glitter glue. I used red and gold glitter glue by RoseArt. Just squeeze a little dot where desired. For the star on top, I placed a drop of gold glitter glue. Then I used a pin to drag out the glitter to match up with the star at the top of the tree (as shown below).

Step 4: I used gold metallic pearl cardstock. You can use any solid cardstock that coordinates with your card. Cut the 8-1/2″x11″ paper in half and then in half again so you end up with four pieces that measure 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Step 5: In order to properly layer the card pieces as shown below, trim off 1/8 inch off each side of the gold paper. On the printed card, trim 1/4 inch off each side.

Step 6: Adhere the printed card to the gold paper. You can use as is for a gift tag! Otherwise, adhere to a folded half sheet of white cardstock. (I cut a sheet of white cardstock in half. Then I used my ScorePal to score the center so that it would fold nicely.)

Gift Idea: Make several and give as a set! Beautiful!

Scrapbook Memories TV – Simple Pleasures Card

I had so much fun taping the show at Scrapbook Memories TV back in 2008. Everyone was so friendly and I really enjoyed meeting the other ladies who were there taping for shows throughout the week.

Below are the instructions for making the Simple Pleasures Card that I demonstrated on the show. I hope you enjoy this printable card. It’s very easy to make. You can assemble several so that you have them ready to use at any time.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Print out the jpg file. You can open it in a graphics program (such as Photoshop Elements), preview it in a program such as Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in order to print it, or insert the picture into a Word file. Then print it out.

Cut out the card which measures 5-3/8″ wide x 4-1/4″ high. Cut a piece of cardstock in half to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Then fold one of those pieces in half. Adhere the printed card to the front of the folded card.

At this point you can embellish as desired. I glued some blue jewels to the center of each flower. It’s amazing how just a little embellishment makes the entire card look dimensional.

This is a very easy way to make a complete set of cards so that you have them ready to use right when you need them.

Assignment books are a great way to stay organized during the school year. I like to give my kids their own personalized books each year. There are three parts to this tutorial. The first section will go over the digital portion for the cover. The second section will cover creating the inside pages and the third second will go over assembly and embellishing.
